Serve as the senior financial advisor for Athletics. Create and implement budgets across all funds for Athletics. Responsible, along with Director of Athletics, for ensuring a balanced budget each fiscal year and creating long-term financial plans to balance any existing deficits across all fund types. Responsible for ensuring Director of Athletics, Associate Directors and Coaches have the proper training, guidance and knowledge of university policy to make complex financial decisions as needed. Develop financial reports and procedures as needed. Ensure accuracy of data as needed. Works closely and is directly accountable on behalf of the Director of Athletics to the VP of Finance and the ABSC in matters pertaining to analyzing, tracking and forecasting budgets. Assist Director of Athletics in creating and communicating a culture of fiscal accountability and compliance among all departmental staff. Provide supervision of position supporting HR and business operations. Represent Athletics division departments in policy and procedural discussions with various central offices including, but not limited to, Human Resources, the Controller's office, FAB, Purchasing Services, the Disbursement Center, Audit Services and Risk Management. Work closely with these offices as needed to ensure that Athletics is meeting budget goals and complying with university policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor's Degree in related field of business administration and five years of experience providing strategic financial planning and oversight to large, complex organizations in change management environments.
