Northeastern offers a generous and competitive benefits package, a refreshingly collaborative working environment and a dedicated talent management program in the Office of University Advancement.
Northeastern seeks a proactive and entrepreneurial Development Officer (DO) who can advance the individual giving program at the Northeastern Athletic Department. Northeastern Athletics is a leader in establishing an environment that balances academic and athletic excellence.
Reporting to the Director of Development for Athletics and working in close collaboration with our athletic administrative staff and coaches, the DO is responsible for identifying and building relationships with prospective donors, developing strategies for their cultivation, and soliciting gifts at both the major gift and the leadership gift level.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of formal development experience, preferably in higher education; however, those with a similar record of professional service and who exhibit the knowledge of and skills for professional development work will receive careful consideration. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree (graduate or professional degree preferred). Demonstrated interest in supporting the vision of academic and athletic excellence with integrity.
In addition, the successful candidate should be highly collaborative in approach, demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, and interpersonal skills necessary for building relationships with various university constituents, both internal and external.
The DO will be expected to travel, including occasional nights and weekends, for the Athletic Department in support of its programs and priorities. DO will be required to regularly attend athletic competitions, both home and away.
