The Department of Philosophy at Hamilton College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2018. We seek candidates to teach in:
AOS: Social and Political Philosophy
AOC: Ancient and Philosophy of Technology or Aesthetics
We seek candidates who can demonstrate their experience in teaching or working with diverse student populations. Your cover letter should address the ways in which you would advance the College's goal of building a diverse educational environment. …students gain an understanding of structural and institutional hierarchies based on one or more of the social categories of race, class, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexuality, age, and abilities/disabilities. The requirement should encourage students to think critically about accomplishments, experiences, and representations of various social groups in the United States and/or other countries.
The teaching load for this position is four courses during the first year and five courses thereafter.
We will consider ABD candidates provided the Ph.D. is expected by the July 1, 2018 appointment.
