Director of Dining Services
Grinnell College is accepting applications and nominations for Director of Dining Services. The self-operated Dining Services unit has won national recognition as one of the top collegiate dining programs. Grinnell’s dining program provides its students with many menu options at its marketplace dining facility. Options include gluten-free, halal, and vegan specials. The Catering unit serves campus and local events. The Spencer Grill operation offers ala carte meals for the entire campus community. The Dining operation also oversees the Campus Card office and vending operations on campus.
The Director of Dining Services reports to the AVP for Auxiliary Services and Economic Development. This position provides executive oversight, management and leadership to all College Dining Operations working collaboratively in a diverse, student-focused environment. The Director oversees the organizational structure, general administration, training programs, establishment of objectives and procedural guidelines, development of the annual budget, planning facilities and recommending personnel requirements.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university and at least 10 years of experience in food service or related area. A Master’s degree is preferred. Selected candidate will need to successfully pass a background check prior to first day of employment.
Selected candidates will need to successfully complete a physical examination and physical assessment prior to the first day of work.
