Assistant Professor of English - Tenure Track Appointment
Position Summary: The Department of English at Gettysburg College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level to begin August, 2018, in multi-ethnic literatures of the US, with a preferred primary specialty in Asian American, Latina/o/x, and/or Native American literatures. We welcome candidates working in any historical period whose work complements the department’s existing offerings in nineteenth-century US literature and twentieth-century US literature and African American literature. Candidates will be expected to teach five courses per year, which will include courses in their specialty and first-year writing, and may include literary theory.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in English or comparable field by time of appointment is required. The successful candidate will have a strong research agenda, be committed to the teaching and advising of undergraduates, and contribute to the diversity of our curriculum and/or community.
