The Department of Physics at Boston University (BU) is seeking candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in experimental high energy collider physics to join our effort on the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), pending budgetary approval. We encourage applications from the broad experimental particle physics community, but we are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise includes instrumentation and detector development, trigger and readout electronics, advanced simulation techniques and data analysis. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate effectively with the CMS group at BU and to develop an independent, internationally recognized research program.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, and is expected to be an effective teacher and mentor in the undergraduate and graduate instructional programs of the Physics Department.
