The Oswego Alumni Association, Inc., located at SUNY Oswego, invites applications for a full time, Finance Associate. While this position is located on the campus of SUNY Oswego, this is an Oswego Alumni Association, Inc. position, NOT a New York State position.

Job Description:

The Finance Associate, reporting directly to the Associate Director, is responsible for processing all cash receipts and cash disbursements for both the Oswego College Foundation, Inc., and the Oswego Alumni Association, Inc., and will also have responsibility for processing bi-weekly payroll and various other supporting finance department tasks within both the Oswego College Foundation and Oswego Alumni Association. Will work closely with our Advancement Services Department as they process donor gift receipts. The Finance Associate is the daily contact with the various departments and programs on the SUNY Oswego campus for which the College Foundation holds and manages philanthropic gifts. Responsible for problem solving in a deadline based atmosphere, and for clerical duties as requested,    the Finance Associate will also work very closely with the Director of Finance.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent
  • Experience with non-for-profit general ledger accounting software systems or related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or three years professional experience
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Experience processing credit card payments
  • Data entry and customer service experience
  • Experience with iModules and/or Banner
  • Strong analytical thinking, multi-tasking and time management skills

In addition, this position will be expected to demonstrate interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of Alumni, students and colleagues.
