Visiting Assistant Professor of Physics - 1yr Appointment (2018-2019)
Position Summary. The Department of Physics at Gettysburg College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor in physics beginning August 2018. Our preference is for individuals who have engaged in research-supported pedagogy centered around student learning and who foster active learning environments. The teaching load for this position will be three courses each semester, where either a lecture or laboratory section is considered to be one course.
Qualifications. Candidates should have a doctorate in physics, astronomy, or a closely allied field. We strongly encourage applications from candidates who are committed to and can speak to mentoring and educating students from the broadest possible cross-sections of backgrounds and countries. Teaching experience or promise of excellence in teaching is desirable.
