RESEARCH ASSISTANT,SPH School of Public Health, Epidemiology (9048/I2217)
The Boston University School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology is looking for a full-time Research Assistant for an epidemiological study being conducted as part of the Boston University Superfund Research Program (BUSRP). The BUSRP is an interdisciplinary program that conducts and communicates research on the effects of environmental exposures on development in humans and wildlife. The epidemiological study is investigating the impact of early life exposure to environmental and social stressors on the subsequent risk of risk of substance use (including illicit drug use and unhealthy alcoholic beverage consumption) during adolescence and adulthood. Job responsibilities include: 1) conducting literature reviews, 2) assisting with questionnaire development, 3) conducting follow-up to locate current addresses of study participants, 4) preparing mailings and communicating with participants, 5) maintaining study databases, and 6) participating in grant and manuscript preparation. Applicant will form part of the BUSRP research team and have the opportunity to learn about multiple research projects in the program. This position will last for approximately 1.5 years.
- Bachelor's Degree and 1-3 years of research or related experience required. Master's Degree preferred
- Previous experience with quantitative data management, data entry and quality assurance is beneficial.
- Detail-oriented, able to work independently and part of a team.
- Familiarity with humans subjects research.
- Good communication skills.
