The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Clinical Navigator (Health Care Program Manager) position.

Jobs in this career family are responsible for performing a wide range of professional duties to support the university's teaching, research and/or service missions through the provision of health and wellness services, dealing with general, indirect patient care operations and management of healthcare services. Functions include hospital administration, healthcare regulatory compliance, patient relations, operational services, admissions, and medical records. Includes professional assignments in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, counseling and behavioral health, public health, dietetics and nutrition, other allied health fields, alternative medicine and therapies, and related disciplines.
Program Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operation of a program, function or work unit, including the Development and implementation of processes consistent with college, school or departmental strategies and processes. These positions typically do not supervise others.
The Marcus Institute for Brain Health (MIBH) at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a clinical care and research institute for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Psychological Health (PH) conditions such as post-traumatic stress, depression and anxiety. The primary focus of the MIBH is to care for former military personnel who have separated from active duty, with special consideration for those who were separated with "Other Than Honorable" or "Dishonorable" discharge status due to TBI or PH conditions. It will also serve civilian adults who have sustained mild to moderate TBI and are experiencing lingering neurological problems or co-morbid PH conditions. The MIBH offers intensive outpatient care with detailed diagnostic and treatment services, frequently in a four-week program, that integrates conventional medicine with complementary and alternative medicine.
The MIBH is currently seeking a Clinical Navigator who will work within a team setting to assess patient referrals to the Institute. The position will report to the Director of Clinical Operations and provide comprehensive screening and integrated reporting of MIBH patient referral medical records to determine if the referral is an appropriate patient for participation as a MIBH patient. This will include providing clinical recommendations on patient appropriateness for the MIBH program based upon comprehensive clinical review of the medical documentation, to be forwarded to the MIBH clinical decision team. The position must adhere to the State of Colorado Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses (RN) or Social Work (SW).
Examples of Work Performed:
- Facilitate patient intake by phone, email or online through the MIBH referral process.
- Coordinate responsibilities with other patient services staff as needed.
- Establish and maintain key relationships with colleagues at the MIBH, the Anschutz Medical Campus and throughout TBI community.
- Provide support to patients and caregivers in the local community and across the country.
- Ensure that proper authorizations/releases are executed.
- Ensure that records are created and maintained in manners consistent with best practices.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Director, Clinical Operations.
PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable.
Salary and Benefits:
The hiring salary for this position is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

- A bachelor's degree in biological science, nutrition, nursing, health, human services, psychology, counseling, social work, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Three (3) years of experience working with TBI and Psychological Health.
- The position requires extensive, diverse and progressively responsible clinical TBI experience.
- A master's degree from an accredited institution as an RN or in Social Work is preferred.
- Experience working with Veterans or active duty service member.
