The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a careerist to assume the role of Faculty Recruitments Specialist. The Faculty Recruitments Specialist will work under general supervision of the Director of Academic Affairs and HR Strategies and must possess and demonstrate a positive outlook on continuous process improvement efforts while maintaining a team-based and customer-focused mindset. It is critical that this position exhibit the abilities to practice sound judgment and decision-making, effective written & oral communication, strong attention to detail and respectful relationship management. This position must also exhibit a strong desire to continuously learn new and unfamiliar business topics, policies and procedures as they relate to Faculty Recruitments - the ability to translate this information into operational successes will be critical. The Department of Pediatrics Academic Affairs team regularly engages in conversations, ideas and initiatives to help benefit those that we serve - the Faculty Recruitments Specialist must be able to understand, develop and practice a servant leadership philosophy.

Duties include:
  • Partner with senior leadership to determine competencies, requirements etc., to drive recruitment strategies related to faculty recruitments.
  • Provide guidance and tools to leaders throughout the search process, including how to conduct interviews, evaluating feedback etc.
  • Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures related to faculty recruitments.
  • Ensure accurate and complete documentation is maintained concerning all phases of the recruitment process, including equal employment opportunity statistics, and is in compliance with state and federal laws, contractual obligations, and university guidelines.
  • Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working for a University or in an academic environment.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws applicable to the hiring of employees, including affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience creating and executing recruitment strategies.
  • Experience managing relationships with executive level business leaders.
  • Experience with Stanford's academic affairs/human resource policies and systems.
  • Understanding of Stanford Medicine's departments and programs.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):

    Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize own work and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant subject matter knowledge.
  • Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.
  • Frequently stand/walk, sitting, grasp lightly/fine manipulation.
  • Occasionally use a telephone.
  • Rarely lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh 11-20 pounds.
