This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
Under general supervision of the Facilities Service Center Supervisor, performs the full scope of Facilities Services Operations and Service Center activities. This position is responsible for receiving and processing work orders – from receipt through closure – for maintenance trouble calls and billable service requests. The position also serves as the Preventive Maintenance coordinator for the department, ensuring all department assets are properly documented, categorized and on appropriate preventive maintenance schedules.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment not expected to exceed $2,958 per month. CSU Classification Salary Range: $2,846 - $4,711 per month. Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.

High school program, technical/vocational program, or equivalent combined with several years of related office work experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills
Previous experience using a computerized maintenance management system consisting of work orders, preventive maintenance, deferred maintenance and work scheduling for a large complex organization.
Previous experience dispatching in a high volume call center.
Ability to work in an environment with distractions and consistently changing priorities.
Working knowledge of Facilities Services or similar operational environment and understanding of construction and maintenance work scheduling and coordination; familiarity with building trades, associated language, maintenance materials and purchasing practices.
Ability to perform mathematical computations for labor hours, labor rates and material costs on work performed by various trades.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to use tact and diplomacy while exercising good judgment with individuals at all levels in person, in writing, by telephone and through electronic means.
Working knowledge of personal computers, possess a high level proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications, such as Excel and Word for Windows, and must have the ability learn all aspects of an automated maintenance management system.
This position requires substantial maturity, highly developed interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to defuse potentially volatile situations in a satisfactory manner.
Capable of working independently and have the skill to establish priorities for personal work assignments.
Ability to work as a team member, necessitating the coordination of efforts and to closely integrate these efforts with employees in the Facilities Service Center and Facilities Services.
Must be customer service oriented, and informative and helpful on the telephone and in person.
