Working closely with the TBR institutions, the incumbent will be responsible for development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and support of data warehousing, business intelligence, dashboard creation, and reporting initiatives.  This position solves complex data problems found in higher education which requires speed and accuracy in arriving at a solution.  This includes the initiation and research of project studies for analytics requirements/needs, development of reports, extracts, dashboards, and other business requirements.  This position requires the Analyst to follow through the entire development process from translating the business need into technical requirements all the way to a successful solution with little supervision.


Design, develop, test, implement and maintain BI solutions through the use of SAS Visual Analytics, Argos, and other reporting tools, and appropriate software.

Maintain, test, and develop ETL jobs to support TBR's Data warehouse utilizing tools such as SAS Data Integrator.

Work closely with institutions and fellow staff members to identify opportunities for improved data delivery, and analytical needs related to Business Intelligence and Research and Assessment.

Translate complex business processes and analytics requirements business requirements into technical specifications.

Respond to ad-hoc requests.

Recommend data and reporting solutions to meet requirements of BI projects.

Assist with the preparation of training materials for projects being developed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.

Three years of job related experience.

Experience working with a Relational Database Management System (RDMS e.g. Oracle, SQL Server etc.).

Demonstrated experience using OLAP/Reporting (e.g. Argos (Evisions), Cognos (IBM), Crystal Reports) tools to create reports and analytics; relational databases/Tools (RDBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL).

Experience working with Data warehouses creating ETL process flows.

Demonstrated experience with technical writing and documenting including entity relationship diagramming.

Experience working in both technical support and end-user support environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree with business/IT or similar concentration

Data modeling, dimensional data modeling

Experience using TOAD, SQL-Developer, or other DBMS support tools

Good understanding of database security and regulatory compliance requirements

Familiarity with a programming/macro language such as ProC/PL/SQL and Oracle database analysis

Higher education experience

2-3 years of experience writing quires from Ellucian's Banner tables
