The California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) Foundation requests applications from and nominations of accomplished, innovative leaders for consideration to become the Foundation's Executive Director.
Located on a 346-acre campus in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County in Carson, California, CSUDH is part of the 23-campus California State University system. The University is a federally recognized Minority-Serving Institution as well as a Hispanic Serving Institution and is among the most ethnically diverse universities in the nation. With an enrollment of nearly 15,000 students, CSUDH is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) and offers 45 baccalaureate degrees, 24 master's degrees, and numerous certificate and credential programs.
The CSUDH Foundation is a multi-dimensional commercial enterprise established in 1968 as a non-profit, self-supporting 501(c)(3) auxiliary organization. The Foundation performs a variety of services in support of the University, including the management of commercial operations, including campus dining, catering, the university bookstore, and other commercial enterprises; post-award business services of University grants and contracts; and fiscal administration for numerous University and other auxiliary programs. The Foundation also plays a pivotal role in working in partnership with the University to advance the University's public-private land use and development, including implementation of a conceptual plan for development of more than 75 acres of University property on the east side of the campus. A Board of Directors consisting of, faculty, administrators, student representation, and prominent leaders from the surrounding community governs the Foundation.
Working in close collaboration and consultation with the Vice President of Administration and Finance to advance the needs of the University, the Executive Director is responsible for the overall operation and management of the Foundation. The successful candidate will possess an entrepreneurial mindset; model sound business practices, be highly collaborative, and promote a collective vision to ensure the development and continuous improvement of all aspects of the Foundation's auxiliary services. Qualifications include ten years of progressively responsible administrative management, preferably with at least three years in a senior level position within public higher education; and knowledge of the role of a 501(c) (3) non-profit corporation within a university environment. A Bachelor's degree and/or an advanced degree in Business or a closely related field is preferred.
Employment of the Executive Director is by the California State University, Dominguez Hills Foundation. This is not a State of California position.
