Division Director, Infectious Diseases, Medicine
The Michigan State University College of Human Medicine is recruiting an outstanding academic leader to serve as the next Chief of the Division of Infectious Diseases, Department of Medicine (http://medicine.chm.msu.edu/). The next Division Chief will be a nationally recognized physician scientist or accomplished clinical educator with a strong history of research, administrative, or educational leadership and a commitment to excellence in education and clinical care. The Chief will have a joint appointment in the Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics (https://mmg.natsci.msu.edu/) dependent on mutual interest and expertise, and will develop and participate in mutually supportive and collaborative activities.
Candidates must hold an M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O./Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited medical school, ABIM board certification and recertification if applicable; academic accomplishments that would merit appointment at the associate professor or professorial level in the MSU tenure system; relevant administrative experience; and evidence of effective interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have a record of federal funding, promote research collaborations across the University and the community, attract and develop qualified faculty, oversee clinical activities of the division, and enhance the education of medical students, Internal Medicine Residents and Infectious Disease Fellows.
