UNC Asheville is a NCAA Division I institution with 16 varsity sports that compete in the Big South Conference, while the women's swimming program competes in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association.

Reporting to the Assistant Athletics Director for External Relations, the Multimedia Production Coordinator will have primary responsibility for conceptualizing and creating cutting edge, dynamic multimedia and video products that promote and enhance the strategic direction of the UNC Asheville Athletic department.

The employee in this position will work individually and as part of a team to ensure the production of high-quality, compelling videos for Bulldog Athletics. The employee will be responsible for all stages of the multimedia development life cycle, including initial concept, gathering requirements, development, writing, testing, editing, and dissemination to create content to meet the various platform needs. The employee in this position is expected to be a trendsetter in creating, and maintaining impactful content that strategically grows the UNC Asheville Athletics brand in all external communications and comply with all NCAA, Big South, and UNC Asheville rules, regulations, and policies.Anyone up for this challenge needs to bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Two to three years of experience conceptualizing, planning, producing, and editing high quality video and other multimedia content, preferably in an athletics/sports setting. Ability to create cutting-edge, dynamic multimedia and video products.
  • Prior experience with the full production process for live events and streaming. Ability to work independently and make dynamic decisions that impact the overall image of the Athletics department and the University.
  • Prior experience in creating and developing video board content for live sporting events such as: intro videos, player cards, and promotional videos with strategic intent on telling a story.
  • Ability to demonstrate creativity and strategy in both shooting and editing, and ability to produce innovative content without direct supervision.
  • Experience developing and organizing various social media content to enhance a brand.
  • Prior experience and knowledge of a NewTek Tricaster, Adobe Premiere and/or Final Cut, Adobe After Effects and various media encoders.
  • Proficiency as a cinematographer, including technical skill with DSLR and cinema cameras.
  • Experience in a managerial or leadership role directing students and/or graduate externs in both live and non-live production practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and University rules.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be detailed oriented and display strong time management skills, and the ability to work with a high degree of initiative.
