Faculty Fellow in American Art History (one-year)
The Department of Art at Colby College invites applications for a one-year sabbatical replacement position in American art history at the rank of Faculty Fellow. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in art history before the start of the position on September 1, 2018. The four-course teaching load includes a two-semester survey of American art, from ca. 1650 to the present, and two additional courses in any of the following areas: Native American art, Latinx art, Latin American art, and modern architecture. We are especially interested in candidates who, through their scholarship, teaching, and service, will promote diversity at Colby. The successful candidate will have opportunities to engage with the rich collections in American art at the Colby College Museum of Art and to participate in activities organized by the newly established Lunder Institute for American Art.
