Position Summary: The School of Music at the University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Ph.D. in historical musicology required by time of appointment; college teaching experience preferred. We seek a creative and collegial musicologist whose scholarly interests center on pre-1600 and/or post-1900 music. Primary duties will include the teaching of a wide range of courses in music history and musicology at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including graduate seminars and undergraduate surveys; maintaining an active scholarly production suitable for a research institution; serving on graduate student advisory committees, as well as SOM and University committees; directing theses and other research projects when appropriate.
