Description of Department:

The MFA program at CU Boulder is a three-year degree program that values literary study, innovation, and writing which tests the limits of conventional forms. It is housed within a lively and active English department.

Overview of Job Duties:

The University of Colorado at Boulder English Department's Creative Writing Program invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of creative nonfiction writing. The position will begin Fall 2018.

Successful candidates will have a strong record of publication (at least one book published or under contract). Additional qualifications include a secondary genre specialty in poetry, and preference is given to those with a focus on small press publishing experience and/or successful literary community building. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to the department's fostering of inclusivity and diversity. Junior faculty receive strong internal support, including a pre-tenure research semester. The teaching load is two courses each semester. Ph.D., MFA, or equivalent graduate degree expected by date of appointment.

Minimum Qualifications: MFA or Ph.D. in Creative Writing. Strong record of publication.

Preferred Qualifications: MFA or Ph.D. in Creative Writing, Strong record of publication and one book published or under contract.
