The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism's goal is to prepare students with ethical values leading them toward the many different facets of journalism or related fields.

Job Description
The Mayborn School of Journal Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire an Administrative Specialist II to provide our team with general administrative and front desk support.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Manage the Journalism School's front desk by opening and closing the office, greeting visitors and answering phones, overseeing the copy and mail rooms, and typing general correspondence.
* Distributing and gathering textbook order forms from faculty and entering in the information each.
* Support school faculty and staff as needed.
* Assist with school events and conferences.
* Assist with asset inventory management.
* Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and two years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communication with public, verbally and in writing.
* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
* Skill in filing and recordkeeping.
* Skill in English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
* Skill in basic math.
* Knowledge of standard office policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Ability to effectively manage time and projects.
