About the College/Department
The CSCE Department offers BS and MS degrees in Computer Science and in Computer Engineering as well as PhD degrees in Engineering with Computer Science or Computer Engineering as concentrations. The department consists of 18 full-time faculty members and is housed in the state-of-the-art J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. Center for Academic Excellence with modern faculty offices, laboratories suitable for computational research, and classrooms. The Department is active in research and the average amount of new research awards per tenure-track faculty member is more than $168K per year for the past two fiscal years. There are four endowed chairs in the Department. Four of our faculty members are NSF CAREER award recipients. In addition, the Department is a strong participant in the University's High Performance Computing (HPC) Center that allows its students and faculty access to additional computing resources.
The College of Engineering consists of eight departments that offer BS degrees in nine disciplines, MS degrees in ten disciplines, and a PhD degree in Engineering with several concentrations. The undergraduate enrollment in the college currently stands at nearly 4,000 and the graduate enrollment stands at over 950. The college has 114 tenure/tenure-track full-time faculty associated with it and externally funded annual research expenditures of approximately $19M. The college is a partner in a newly created NSF Engineering Research Center and multiple NSF I/UCRCs.

Summary of Job Duties
The duties and responsibilities of this tenure-track Assistant Professor position includes teaching, research, and service at the Computer Science and Computer Engineering Department. This position will conduct research leading to scholarly publications in the area of big data analytics, write proposals to obtain external funding, establish an independent research program supported by external funding, develop graduate and undergraduate courses, provide curriculum material, construct syllabi, provide classroom instruction, write and administer exams, prepare and evaluate students, mentor students, serve on various faculty and student-oriented committees, exhibit participation and leadership in related professional societies and participate in the faculty decision-making for the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering.

- Ph.D. in computer science, computer engineering, or closely related discipline conferred by the start of employment
- Must present a promising track record in scholarship through refereed publications in conferences and/or journals
- Expertise in big data analytics
- Experience teaching in the field of computer science, computer engineering, or related discipline in an accredited, higher education environment
- Exposure to writing grant proposals
