Assistant Professor (Operations and Supply Chain Management)

General Description of Position:

The Management Department in the College of Business Administration at Kansas State University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Operations and Supply Chain Management.

Kansas State University is a state-supported institution with over 22,000 students. The College of Business Administration, with 2800 undergraduate and graduate students, consists of four academic departments: Accounting, Finance, Management, and Marketing. The Successful Candidate will:

Meet the listed required minimum qualifications as well as excel in the listed preferred qualifications. Responsibilities will include conducting and publishing academic research and teaching two courses per semester, along with assisting in the service mission of the Department, College and University.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree in an OSCM-related field from an AACSB accredited Business School (or must be within six months of degree completion at the start of contract)
  • Demonstrated preparation for conducting high quality research and publishing in high quality journals in the OSCM discipline
  • Demonstrated preparation for high quality teaching in supply chain management, operations management, and transportation/logistics
  • Ability to contribute to the service mission of the college
  • Ability to work effectively with multicultural students and individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong research record as demonstrated through publications in top academic journals and presentations at national academic conferences
  • Prior university teaching experience in supply chain management, operations management, and/or business/data analytics
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Related professional work experience
