Position Summary

Under direct supervision, maintains the integrity of the OSs environment. Assists in installing, configuring and maintaining operating system servers, including web, mail and application servers, in support of processing requirements. Provides extensive operations support, file restorations, backups, disk space management, and problem resolution for operating systems platforms. Provides new hardware specifications to customers based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure. A member of a 24/7/365 global department.

Job Functions

Installs, modifies, implements, documents and maintains OS platforms/software, having general knowledge of component interrelationships within existing systems platforms/software 
Assists users in identifying difficult technical problems and devising solutions
Provides basic contextual and technical information to users
Analyzes systems requirements and performance to optimize the overall use of network operating systems
May commonly be part of a project team and assist on projects
May be project leader on small or task specific projects
May coach more junior staff
Maintains tasks, projects and activities in the IT system of Record (S-NOW)
Understands and follows LSCS standard operating procedures
Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of experience in systems administration/ programming or related area
Entry level certifications in areas of responsibility required (MCP, EMCISA, VCP-DV) 
At least 2 weeks of annual training in primary areas of responsibility
Participation in product user groups
