General Summary: The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a Groundskeeper. The Groundskeeper will be responsible for landscape work in a University environment.

Job Duties & Responsibilities: The Groundskeeper will:
  • Complete physically demanding manual labor consisting of lawn, flower and shrub care.
  • Digging, spraying, edging and power tool operation.
  • Other duties as assigned, including building or property maintenance support as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must have ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, often in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate equipment; Able to operate small hand tools;
  • Balancing; Bending Over; Carrying; Climb up and down ladder; Climb up onto and down from equipment. Crawling; Crouching;
  • Eye/hand coordination; Grasping; Hearing; Kneeling;
  • Hazards such as electrical, chemical, biological;
  • Inside/outside environmental factors;
  • Constant, heavy, constant lifting; Moving; Pulling; Pushing; Reaching; Reaching Overhead;
  • Repetitive use of hands/arms; Repetitive use of legs; Sitting; Standing; Stooping; Talking; Twisting; Walking (include distance);
  • ability to work heights up to 60 feet using man lifts and ladders;
  • operate vehicles; trucks; golf carts.
  • Ability to operate power tools, large landscape machinery and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time, often in adverse weather conditions.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 65 feet.

Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • High School graduate preferred
  • Grounds/landscaping experience preferred
