Responsibilities include: * Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary and/or secondary science education and curriculum and instruction * Establish an active research/publication record * Pursue external funding in science education * Direct student research, theses, and dissertations in science education and advise students * Serve on student and faculty committees * Supervise practicum and internship experiences * Collaborate in further development of innovative undergraduate and graduate programs * Collaborate with local schools and school systems Minimum Qualifications: * Earned doctorate in Science Education, Elementary Education (with emphasis on science education), or Secondary Education (with emphasis on science education) * Minimum 2 years full-time K-12 classroom teaching * Demonstrated ability to pursue a research agenda with potential for external funding in science education * Ability to teach courses in K-6 or K-12 science education * Ability to teach courses in general elementary and/or secondary education, curriculum and instruction * Ability to integrate technology into instruction including web-assisted and other alternative delivery models * Ability to teach with a multicultural perspective Preferred Qualifications: * Ability to integrate inclusion concepts into instruction * Experience with ESL populations * Experience working in collaborative settings Further information about the program and college is accessible at www.education.ua.edu.
