General Description of Position:

 

The Department of Physics at Kansas State University seeks a faculty member in an area of experimental ultrafast laser science who is expected to join the Department of Energy-funded efforts at the J.R. Macdonald Laboratory (JRML). An applicant's AMO physics research focus should thus complement these efforts and fit within the JRML group research theme. The Department of Physics at Kansas State University is built around 30 highly productive faculty members whose research expertise here at K-State and world-class facilities such as Fermi National Lab, CERN, DESY (German Electron Synchrotron), SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab  provides students a wide variety of research experiences.

The Successful Candidate will:

The successful candidate will be appointed at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Physics Department. The candidate must present credentials that will justify appointment at this level, including a Ph.D. or equivalent in AMO physics or a related discipline, also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students and to serving a diverse population

Required Minimum Qualifications:

 Ph.D. or equivalent in AMO physics or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

Postdoctoral experience in experimental ultrafast laser science.

Teaching experience working with both undergraduate and graduate level students.

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

 $70,000 - $75,000
