Reporting to the Executive Director of Graduate and Professional Student Support Services, the director provides supervision and leadership for the Office of Graduate and Professional Student Affairs, and serves as a member of the Graduate and Professional Student Support Services leadership team. The director maintains, interprets, and adjudicates the Graduate and Professional Standards of Conduct, works with university departments and regional centers to facilitate the communication of policies and services to graduate and professional students, coordinates disability services for graduate and professional students through appropriate university offices, works with university departments and regional centers to plan and coordinate community events and activities for graduate and professional students, facilitates the maintenance of the graduate and professional student association, and fulfills other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Graduate and Professional Student Support Services.

Required Education

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution required

Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years of administrative or leadership experience in student affairs
  • Good public relations skills are a necessity, including excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of student conduct principles and practices is required, including some knowledge of Title IX requirements and crisis response protocols
  • Experience in program development and implementation within Student Affairs
  • Knowledge of legal requirements for university disability services is required
  • Preferred experience in online communications, including social media
  • Preferred experience working with diverse populations

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

  • Maintain and interpret the application of the policies of the Graduate and Professional Student Standards of Conduct.
  • Provide confidential consultation for students with problems, questions, and/or concerns about university procedures and policies.
  • Act as chief adjudication officer for graduate and professional students.
  • Maintain the Behavioral Intervention and Resource Team, assisting graduate and professional students with support services.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Federal and State Laws including the Clery Act, Title IX, and Drug Free Schools.
  • Work with University Campus Safety as well as academic and administrative departments to address and resolve graduate and professional student conduct issues.
  • Work with the Director of Graduate and Professional Center Client Services and the Communication Coordinator to maintain a comprehensive communication strategy to keep graduate and professional students informed about policies, services, and opportunities.
  • Coordinate the communication of policies and provisions for disability services for graduate students.
  • Plan and coordinate community events and activities for graduate students, including online events and services.
  • Assist the graduate student association with the maintenance of online elections and meetings, as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director.
