Visiting Assistant Professor of Professional Writing and Composition
Albion College invites applications for a visiting assistant professor to teach professional writing and composition; this is a three-year renewable position in professional writing including multimedia journalism beginning fall 2018. We are especially interested in candidates who will engage our inclusive learning community and contribute to a campus climate that supports equality and diversity.
Responsibilities include designing and teaching classes in professional writing, multimedia journalism, and composition. This position is also responsible for advising The Pleiad, Albion College’s award-winning online news source. The English Department has a long-term commitment to diversity in the curriculum and in its faculty and to excellence in teaching and scholarship. 3/3 teaching load (includes one course each term devoted to advising the student newspaper and training student staffers).
- Master’s degree in relevant field required.
- Candidates must have broad intellectual interests as well as teaching and/or practical experience in one or more fields of professional writing (e.g. reporting, editing, science writing, grant writing, corporate communications).
