Job Description Summary

Responsible for the Instructional training and safety of new students to be trained on the operation of Power Industrial Equipment (Tow-Motors) in line with OSHA Standard 1910.178.



Job Responsibilities

Responsible for the inspection and reporting maintenance of the colleges tow motors to the Transportation Center Director.

Train new students in the safe operation of Tow-Motors in line with OSHA standard 1910.179.

This will include theoretical and practical training components associated with the safe operation of a Tow-Motor.

Duties will include working with the Transportation Center staff on documentation relating to the training of all Tow-Motor students in all classes.

Administers competency assessments for all students as part of the training

Reinforces instruction to all Tow-Motor students by utilizing a variety of learning modalities to help improve student outcomes.

Assists with input on policies related to training program changes as required.

Performs other duties as assigned



Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
High School Diploma, Certified Tow-Motor Trainer

Minimum of five years of demonstrated verifiable professional experience teaching Tow-Motor education.

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the strategy, management and operations of the Tow-Motor Training Program within the Transportation Center.

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
Possess comprehensive knowledge of Tow-Motor training theories, concepts and practices with the ability to apply in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Demonstrated ability to identify mechanical and maintenance problems, and recommend appropriate solutions

Possess strong organizational and time-management skills

Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to promote student success

Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently

Demonstrated intermediate project management skills

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, persuade, gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas on significant projects

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality
