POSITION SUMMARY:

Design/configure, develop and maintain PeopleSoft application features and functionality. Adhere to PeopleSoft (Student Information Services and Systems) standard protocols and processes. Research and advise users, management, and business analysts with respect to PeopleSoft and third-party systems/tools.

DUTIES & WORK PERFORMED:
  • Document all work efforts in relation to customer requests, change requests, maintenance activities, and others as identified
  • Collaborate with other staff and customers
  • Research, design and develop solutions for business needs driven by issues and problems
  • Perform operational duties such as troubleshooting and performance analysis
  • Architect application-layer for ERP environment
  • Support both application and web server configurations and application-layer integrations
  • Integrate third-party tools and applications with ERP system
  • Participate in an on-call (off-hours) rotation with other staff
  • Drive continual improvement initiatives and motivate others staff members internal and external to OIT
  • Participate in educational and higher education initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven ability to support the PeopleSoft system and/or other third-party systems and tools.

EDUCATION:

Preferred:

BA or BS (Computer Science, Engineering or related field) or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Required:

Equivalent work experience.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

Required:

PeopleSoft:
  • Advanced PeopleTools 8.x
    • Application Designer
    • Integration Broker
    • Portal
    • Data Mover
    • Workflow
  • Student Administration 9.x+ preferred

Software Developer:
  • Requirements analysis, technical specification and design
  • Proven problem solving
  • Systems integration
  • Advanced database modeling (Entity/Relationship preferable)
  • Advanced Structured Query Language (SQL) experience
  • Performance tuning
  • Software and system change and release management
  • Problem tracking/resolution
  • Software QA methodology
  • Oracle 10g

Technical Leadership:
  • Identify and recommend system efficiencies
  • Evaluate and apply product features to optimize business processes
  • Mentor other staff members

Preferred other:
  • Expertise in web markup and scripting languages (HTML5, CSS3, XML, Javascript)
  • Experience with XML/XSLT
  • Working knowledge of design tools (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)
  • Experience in networked, multi-platform, heterogeneous environment
  • UNIX (AIX preferred) skills/knowledge
  • Common PC and networked applications, programming languages
