Position Summary: This position involves the process of identifying potential prospective students and then planning, creating and implementing the strategies needed to attract and successfully enroll those students. This position also requires the recruiting specialist to build relationships with high school staff and established community relationships; understand marketing initiatives needed to attract the students and uphold stellar customer service at all times. The successful candidate may also assist with recruiting at the transfer or graduate level as needed. Essential responsibilities include: RECRUITMENT Recruit specific assigned territories for high school students given by the Assistant Director of Recruitment. Visit and conduct information sessions for middle schools, high schools, and colleges; speak to groups and individual students, meet with school counselors and administrators to promote GSU. Serve independently to develop and maintain partnerships between the university and local school systems throughout the assigned territory. Serve as the point person for oversight of territorial recruitment goals and promotional and public relations. Provide support, guidance, and direction to high school students in a variety of situations and environments as it relates to admission requirements and admission status. Maintain current knowledge of financial aid process. Serves as liaison between the high school and GSU. ADMISSIONS Work with new students to help successfully complete the application process. Track studenta€™s application from prospect through completion in the data tracking systems (Recruiter & Colleague). Help to achieve enrollment and admission team goals by creating leads and transitioning those leads through the admissions processes. Attend meetings as required. OFFICE Maintain current knowledge of admission requirements and issues associated with high school transcripts and understanding general education requirements. Communicate with prospective students in person, via email and phone. Incorporate social media communication into prospect interaction as required. Maintain communication with school staff, faculty and/or administration. Enter prospects in Recruiter Database. Conduct tours and presentations for students and parents. Create special events off campus and/or on campus for prospective students. Collaborate with Assistant Director of Recruitment for short and long-term recruitment plan. Schedule weekly/monthly meetings with Assistant Director of Recruitment to assess progress, outcomes, and plans. Other duties as assigned including but not limited to: Stay current on professional trends in admissions and enrollment management. Maintain current knowledge of best practices and policy in recruitment and admissions. Attend and assist with university events as required. Completes weekly, monthly, biannual and annual recruitment reports. Minimum Qualifications: a€¢ Bachelor's degree required OR at least 3-5 yearsa€™ experience in student recruiting required. a€¢ Leadership experience. a€¢ Organizing and coordinating skills. a€¢ Evidence through resume, cover letter, references, interview: a€¢ Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. a€¢ Ability to work well with individuals with diverse backgrounds a€¢ Ability to work independently a€¢ Ability to develop and deliver presentations a€¢ Ability to develop, plan and implement short and long-rang goals a€¢ Strong interpersonal skills a€¢ Strong written and oral communication skills a€¢ Proactive/innovative approach to student engagement a€¢ Detail oriented a€¢ Team player a€¢ Committed to the job, to prospective students, and to advancing the interest of GSU

Preferred Qualifications: a€¢ Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs or related field. a€¢ Three years of student recruitment and/or admission counseling experience. a€¢ Professional/paraprofessional experience working with traditional age (17-22 year old pre-college and college students) including but not limited to engagement in student affairs (or similar such as academic affairs or enrollment management) such as new student programs, leadership experiences, orientation programs, housing/residence life, and/or new first year student advising. a€¢ Experience working at a college/university with similar accreditation as GSU.

Work Schedule: M - F 8:30 - 5:00, Evenings and weekends required
