The Program Coordinator for the Writing Literature, and Publishing department is responsible for creating, coordinating and maintaining an extensive and diverse schedule of WLP graduate and undergraduate course offerings throughout the entire academic year for full-time and part-time faculty.
This person will work closely with the Chair and Associate Chair as well as other departments within the College.
Works with faculty to arrange times and availability for teaching assignments
Takes department meeting minutes and carrying out specific assignments for the Chair
Develops the WLP Alumni Database, and works to establish contacts, relationships and ongoing communication with WLP alumni and keeps them abreast of news and developments in the department, of faculty accomplishments and activities and informs them of current events
Helps to arrange meetings, and works on outreach initiatives with the Chair
Ensures that WLP course offerings accurately reflect the tripartite structure (literature, publishing, and writing) and missions of the department, as well as a balance across the three genres (poetry, fiction, and nonfiction)
Conducts various research assignments at the discretion of the Chair.
Supervises departmental student workers including scheduling and training
Performs administrative work in support of the WLP graduate programs (MFA, MA, Online MFA), including being a point of contact to students, prospective students, and faculty on matters related to course management and enrollment, program requirements, policies and procedures, and other administrative matters.
