Professor- Graphic Communications
Location: Tillman G 01
Full-time, academic year, tenure-track faculty position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in one of the country's premier graphic communications degree programs. Applicant must fit within our highly technical, hands-on oriented philosophy and have expertise in three or more of the following areas: electronic prepress, digital reproduction, digital workflow, offset lithography, screen printing, flexography, gravure, digital photography, web development, or finishing and fulfillment operations. Expertise in digital printing and cross-media applications is desired.
Doctorate preferred, or masters degree with significant progress towards or commitment to pursuing doctorate required in practice, masters degrees weren't seriously considered by the committee last time. Candidates need a wide graphic communications industry theoretical knowledge and hands-on capability with today's high-tech industrial methods. Two or more years of relevant industry experience is desired. Must have demonstrated teaching experience and leadership abilities to work with students, fellow faculty, industry partners, and professional and trade organizations. Professional writing, grant writing and research experience a plus.
