Instructional Technologist (Administrative Systems)

Job Summary:

The Instructional Technologist will provide faculty, staff, and students with the necessary training and support of instructional technologies and projects in support of USF's administrative and enterprise applications and systems. The Instructional Technologist's primary responsibility will be to develop training materials and media for online self-paced training as well as lead small group and individual trainings and workshops. This position will also contribute to and promote ETS's training resources, programs and social media.

Job Responsibilities:

Develop instructional materials and media for faculty and administrative staff training.
Develop online instructional videos to support training initiatives.
Lead small classroom and one-on-one workshops in Banner Administrative systems, Xtender, Tableau, SalesForce, and other enterprise software initiatives.
Lead small classroom and one-on-one training seminars in the Office Productivity Suite, GoogleApps (Docs, Sheets, and Presentations).
Provide email, phone and Service Now support of administrative systems.
Participate in the measurement of the effectiveness of training, both in-class and online. Make improvements as needed.
Monthly reporting of training attendance metrics.
Lead promotion of tutorials and other online learning tools.
Lead support for the department’s social networking channels such as Facebook and Twitter.
Contribute to the bi-monthly ETS electronic newsletter.
Support for the annual Technology Intensive program and Ed Tech Expo.
Conduct ongoing research of technology solutions for administrative systems.
Project management under the direction of the ETS Director for the items listed above
Support for ADA and UDL guiding principles for media development.
Knowledge of copyright, fair use, and appropriate use of digital media in online learning environments.
Advise on trends, techniques, and best practices in instructional technology uses and applications.
Collaborate with other ETS staff on the design and development of faculty and staff technology supported projects.
Knowledge of the principles of adult learning theory.
Attendance at monthly ETS and Instructional Technology and Training (ITS) meetings.
Compliance with ETS departmental procedures and policies, including the use of collaboration and communication tools (email, phone, Google Docs and Apps).
Other duties assigned as needed in ETS.

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in educational/instructional technology, instructional design, or related field. Minimum of 4 years of training experience in multimedia, communication and presentation technologies. Experience with screencasting/video editing platforms (Screenflow, Camtasia, etc.). Experience using Adobe Captivate desired. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Apps and other productivity applications. Experience with administrative systems in higher education. Training experience in higher education with a proven ability to be successful working with faculty and staff at all levels of technical proficiency. Experience developing training documentation and tutorials. Customer focused; proven technical problem solving ability. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
