General Summary:
Assist with the planning and design of program activities; provide for students essential learning support services and provide individual coaching; monitor the progress of Student Support Services program participants and follow transfer students post-graduation.

This is a grant funded full-time position with benefits.

Continued employment is contingent on sufficient future funding. This grant may be renewed.

Grant Summary: Funded from the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education's Student Support Services Program, this will provide students from low-income, first-generation or students with disabilities support services to increase their rates of retention, graduation and transfer to four-year colleges and universities within four years.

Job Specifications:
Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Education, Developmental Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience in higher education experience with low-income, first generation, non-traditional students and with students with disabilities. Prior experience in financial aid in a post- secondary education institution desired. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Good organizational skills; ability to work with students, faculty, staff, administration and outside agencies, good presentation skills; self-motivation; accountable, and able to provide leadership.

Job Duties:
1. Monitor and evaluate the progress of program participants; utilize technology and tracking system.
2. Assist students in developing an educational plan and strategy to improve student success.
3. Design and coordinate group learning activates to promote student success.
4. Provide individual and /or group coaching to program students on issues related to academic success.
5. Assist students with the completion of financial aid forms and scholarship applications.
6. Organize academic and personal enrichment workshops.
7. Maintain a library of non-traditional sources of financial assistance/ and current textbooks
8. Oversee the mentoring program.
9. Act as a liaison between College departments.
10. Follow Student Support Services (TRIO Grant) Program participants who transfer to a four year institution.
11. Maintain student records and files.
12. Perform other duties related to the grant as required or assigned.
