Position Summary

Major Position Responsibilities

  • Design, assemble and testing of FRIB cryomodules

  • Optimize manufacture process forFRIB production cryomodule

  • Participate testing and certify of 4different type FRIB cavities.

  • Participate in several projectssimultaneously and is accountable to maintain schedules to meet projectrequirements

  • Write in-depth engineering notes andreviews calculations of fellow engineers

  • Lead SRF R&D projects under thesupervision of SRF development manager.

  • Mentor other engineers in analysismethods

  • Followlab-wide policies, procedures and standards

  • Deliverassigned project work package requirements

  • Manageresource and equipment allocation for projects and/or systems

  • Serveas Responsible Person for Export Control Access Control Plan (CA or CA systemonly)

  • Excellentcommunication skill to present approaches, plans and findings both verbally andthrough written reports to peers, management and external stakeholders

Required Degree

Masters -Physics

Desired Degree

Doctorate

Minimum Requirements

A Master's degree in Physics and record of accomplishment in field of expertise.

Desired Qualifications
  • Five years of related industryexperience

  • A PhD is desired.

  • Experience in vacuum and radiationcompatible materials

  • Experience with CAD/CAE andSolidWorks/ANSYS is preferred

  • Experience with superconductinglinac design or high power particle beam magnets and target equipment isdesired or an equivalent combination of education and experience
