General Description of Position:

Responsible for providing healthcare to KSU students.  The Physician Assistant is expected to work independently in accordance with the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts established treatment protocols, and Medical Staff Rules and Regulations.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Evaluate the physical and psychological health status of the patient through a comprehensive health history and physical examination.
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests, x-rays, EKG, and comparable procedures. Plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care based on assessment of normal/abnormal findings from the history, physical examination, laboratory reports and existing protocols.
  • Assess the need for consultation and collaboration with other healthcare team members: refer patient to appropriate campus/community resources. Serve as consultant to other nursing personnel in areas of physical assessment and healthcare planning.
  • Initiate and maintain records pertinent to care provided to the patient, legal documents, and other health/nursing care reports. When appropriate, participate in joint review of services rendered, guidelines, and protocols. This may include chart reviews, case reviews and patient evaluations.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Current Kansas License to practice as a Physician Assistant.

Graduation from a Physician Assistant's Program approved by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts with 1 - 2 years experience as a physician assistant in Family Practice.

Other Requirements:

Current DEA certificate.

Salary Range/ Pay Rate:

$69,438.00 - $114,572.00
