Position Description: Responsibilities of the Associate Music Director include, but are not limited to: music direction for one show per season; music direction for new musical commissions or workshops; accompanying classes, on-campus auditions, season auditions, production rehearsals, senior showcase, class finals, special projects, master classes, and professional auditions on campus. The position also involves weekly private coaching sessions and aiding students in building their audition book repertoire. This is a non-tenure-track position without course teaching assignments.
Bachelor’s degree; demonstrated proficiency in accompanying, conducting, and vocal coaching; extensive professional experience in musical direction; exceptional communication skills; and strong collaborative skills.
Graduate degree in music; experience teaching at the collegiate level; New York and/or national touring credits; proficiency in arranging, orchestration.
