Occupational Summary

Perform a variety of duties to assist investigators in the collection, verification and compilation of research information.

Work Performed
  • Perform a variety of routine clerical, research and data processing duties to assist investigators in the gathering and compiling of research data.
  • Compile and verify the accuracy of research information to determine acceptability based on quality criteria defined by control procedures; abstract, classify and code data.
  • Set up or write required job control language required for processing of data; submit input, programs and operating instructions to be processed by electronic computer; operate computer input/ouput terminal to enter and retrieve data as required.
  • Administer individual or group standardized tests; score tests by hand or machine using predetermined scoring formulas; observe test subject and report behavior and other information that may affect test results.
  • Conduct interviews following an outline on questionnaires and record answers; compile information and report to investigators.
  • Search library reference materials for necessary research information. Prepare and maintain files of research materials; compile and edit indices.
  • Assist in the compilation and distribution of reports related to research findings.
  • Prepare and type related correspondence; operate office machines as required.
