The Program Manager manages all aspects of the Residential Program including staff supervision, scheduling, financial management, medical management, maintenance of the physical plant, etc, to ensure the welfare of each individual. This employee is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy environment that meets the Department of Developmental Disabilities and The Arc of Essex requirements.
Furthermore, this position works under the direct supervision of his/her assigned Assistant Director.
Education and Experience Requirements:
BA/BS in Special Education, Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, or related field preferred.
Experience working with developmentally disabled individuals is required.
At least one year of management or leadership experience is required.
At least two years of experience in program development, including IHP/IEP development, with adults or adolescents who have developmental disabilities is preferred.
An exceptional background in one or two categories may enable a candidate to qualify for consideration, even if there is a deficit in another category.
Schedule: must be able to work a flexible schedule of morning / afternoon shifts a week. The Program Manager is also a part of the monthly rotation for weekend hours.
The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The Arc provides supports, direct care, supervision, and skill training for individuals living in a group residential program.
