Service Center Associate
I. JOB OVERVIEW
Job Description Summary:
The Faculty and Staff Service Center (FSSC) at GW is seeking a Service Center Associate. Located on the Foggy Bottom campus, the FSSC a unit within the Division of University Human Resources serves as a one-stop resource for faculty and staff desiring support with transactional human resource related items of interest to employees. The Service Center Associate provides customer services to our faculty and staff including payroll, benefits, parking and transportation, tax, stipends, accounts payable checks and other human resource related questions.
The Service Center Associate performs the following duties:
Completes and re-verify Employment Eligibility Verification Forms (I-9s) and monitors Social Security number completion for international staff.
Notarizes business documents for employees and make referral and arrangements for employees to have individual counseling sessions with university retirement representatives.
Distributes p-cards, stipends, employment verification and A/P checks as well as approved VPN tokens to employees.
Assists employees in enrollment and payment for occasional and contract parking and payment of citations via credit card/GWorld Debit payments.
Assists employees with enrollment in or changes in benefits elections for health and retirement.
Resolves issues based upon documented protocol or refers employees to human resources, payroll, parking, subject matter experts and generalist for advanced support.
Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.Minimum Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Additional Required Licenses/Certifications/Posting Specific Minimum Qualifications:
Have or obtain notary credentials within six monthsPreferred Qualifications:
Three years of related customer service experience is preferred.
