The Institutional Advance team works to promote UNT Health Science Center's mission, alumni, and the community and to raise private philanthropic funding to support its educational, research, and patient care activities.

Position Details
The Institutional Advance Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Annual Giving Specialist to join our team.

The Annual Giving Specialist will be responsible for discovery and solicitation calls on behalf of the UNT Health Science Center, with an emphasis on UNTHSC Alumni. Reporting to the Annual Giving Manager, the Specialist will support the Annual Giving strategy to build and expand the donor base, understanding that annual donors will often mature into major gifts donors with time and stewardship. The Specialist with work closely with the entire Institutional Advancement team, and especially so with the Alumni Relations Manager to prioritize prospects for contact and visits. The successful candidate will be responsible for documenting all activities into the Raiser's Edge donor database and for understanding the key funding needs of the Health Science Center and each of its schools and colleges.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Support the Annual Giving Manager in executing strategies to build HSC annual giving, playing a key role in the success of Institutional Advancement strategic goals for building the donor base.
* Manage a prospect pool assigned by the Annual Giving Manager, to be built through research and analysis of past prospect engagement, giving history, and giving potential (alumni and general community).
* Focus of "discovery calls" to better understand each prospect's HSC history, interests, and to assess future engagement/giving potential.
* Seek gifts as appropriate, but always with an eye toward building a relationship that respects/reflects the prospect's individual "value proposition" (the attributes of the HSC that warrant time, attention, and support).
* Support strategies formed in collaboration with Deans of each School/College that structure outreach events or other activities to engage alumni.
* Work closely with the Alumni Relations Manager to participate and (when appropriate) assist in the planning/execution of alumni events and outreach, determining whether a gift emphasis is appropriate to the event.
* Document the outcomes of prospect meetings in Raiser's Edge and be responsible for developing "next step" strategies for the prospect pool.

Required Qualifications
