Department Overview
The Department of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology strives to provide the finest professional education in both speech-language pathology and audiology while maintaining an excellent Arts and Sciences pre-professional undergraduate degree. The program stresses excellence in teaching, service, and scholarly work by its faculty and students. As a component of the educational program, the department operates the UNT Speech and Hearing Center. The Center offers professional services to members of our campus community and the general public for the purpose of providing clinical training for students. The Center offers state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and hearing disorders.

Job Description
The Audiology & Speech - Language Pathology Department at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Administrative Specialist III to join our team. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Fills the role of medical billing and coding expert.
* Responsible for posting client charges and payments for services rendered by the UNT Speech & Hearing Center or through one of its clinical service agreements.
* Maintains accurate client accounts, creates and mails billing statements, bills private-pay clients and insurance carriers/Medicaid, and completes credentialing for the UNT Speech & Hearing Center to maintain eligibility to bill insurance.
* Provides backup support to the reception desk on a seldom, as-needed basis.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent and three years of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed. The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Basic MS Office skills.
* Ability to problem-solve and make decisions.
* Ability to effectively communicate.
* Knowledge of policies, practices, procedures and terminology of assigned function.
* Skill in composing routine letters and preparing reports.
* Skill in recording and compiling material for reports.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Experience in a medical, therapy, or rehabilitation office.
* Experience in medical billing and standardized codes.
* Familiarity with HIPAA privacy laws.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Calendar.
