Position Description

Advertised Job Summary

Associate Editor assists the project director of the Pinckney Papers Project with interim reports & applications for funding. Researches documents at the South Carolina & other national repositories.

Responsible for reading & transcribing handwritten manuscripts and entering information into DocTracker Databases.

Supervises student staff & participates in development of editorial policies & editorial board meetings.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)

Masters degree in American History, Public History, or closely related field. Experience in scholarly editing.

Preferred Qualifications Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Experience with advanced reading of handwritten manuscripts; advanced skills in use of DocTracker database editorial system to manage document files and create editorial content.
