About the College/Department
Nursing at the University of Arkansas was established in 1969 as an associate degree nursing extension program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Nursing. In 1987, Nursing became a department of the College of Education and Health Professions. The associate degree nursing program transitioned to a baccalaureate nursing program in 1994 and the Department of Nursing was renamed the Eleanor Mann School of Nursing in 1996. Pre-Nursing is one of the most popular majors among first year undergraduates at the University of Arkansas. In the last six years, undergraduate nursing enrollment increased more than 200%. Approximately 100 upper-division undergraduates are admitted twice a year to the baccalaureate program. Today, there are approximately 850 undergraduate and graduate nursing students. Eleanor Mann School of Nursing offers three accredited degree programs, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing and a Doctor of Nursing Practice.

Summary of Job Duties
The duties and responsibilities of this 9-month, Visiting Clinical Assistant Professor of Nursing position include: teaching primarily graduate courses; advising students; clinical practice engagement; performing professional and community service and outreach; and contributing to ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) must be conferred by the start of appointment
- Current APRN license in the State of Arkansas, or eligible for licensure in Arkansas
- Knowledge of innovative teaching approaches and the use of technology in instruction
- Experience with interprofessional collaborative education, scholarship, and/or practice
- Strong interest in and professional commitment to the preparation of advanced practice nurses
- Advanced practice family nurse practitioner certification and licensure
- Experience with online graduate programs
- Use of technology in instruction
- Teaching experience
