Summary of Duties:
Serve as a skilled Human Resource Consultant serving the Puget Sound area including Everett, WSU West, Mount Vernon, Puyallup, Olympia and other WSU locations on the west side of state.

Responsible for providing professional human resource generalist duties and administrative direction and counsel to management and employees on human resource issues. Plans and carries out work independently and with minimum supervision, utilizing knowledge of laws, policies and regulations. Responsible for prioritizing and managing issues within designated area of responsibility.

Provide guidance and consultation in any, some or all of the following: recruitment, classification, compensation, corrective and disciplinary action, training and development, interpretation and application of laws, rules, policies and procedures, appeals, grievances or unemployment hearings, performance management, program or policy development, performance reviews, career counseling, organizational analysis or development, employee recognition or other functions relating to Human Resource management.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related area and three (3) years of demonstrated knowledge of general human resource practices. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
