199791 Resource Sharing Librarian
Clark University’s Libraries seeks to fill the position of Resource Sharing Librarian at the Robert H. Goddard Library. Reporting to the Head of Public Services, the Resource Sharing Librarian will provide traditional interlibrary loan and digital resource delivery services including document delivery, pay-per-view access, digital transmission and storage applications, and related activities. Duties and Responsibilities Included in a range of responsibilities, the Resource Sharing Librarian is responsible for providing management of the interlibrary loan unit including, but not limited to, implementing procedures, evaluating and determining workflow and processes, and planning enhancements. The incumbent will have supervisory responsibilities for student workers. The Resource Sharing Librarian will provide Reference Desk services, including weekends and evenings. In addition, the Resource Sharing Librarian will carry responsibilities for outreach and instruction or collections development, as needed; participate in new or enhanced Library and reference services and related digital initiatives, including those for new online programs as well as other duties as assigned. Qualifications The successful candidate will have a graduate degree in library/information science from ALA-accredited institution. Other qualifications include: strong commitment to service, excellence at all academic levels; reference experience in an academic library; strong, positive communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated knowledge of and experience with current and emerging trends, technologies, and assessment and best practices related to library reference and instructional services; and ability to communicate an understanding of the purposes and role of the library in the contemporary university and college environment. Must demonstrate an ability to multitask, prioritize and work both independently and as part of a team as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff. 1 – 2 years academic reference experience as well as supervisory experience is desired. Technical qualifications include a minimum of 1-2 years ILLiad and/or OCLC Worldshare ILL experience. This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 12 month position with excellent benefits, which include employee and family tuition benefits, 4 weeks’ vacation, generous retirement plan, health insurance, free use of campus fitness center and many more.
