Organizational Development Specialist

The University of Illinois seeks an Organizational Development Specialist to perform the planning, design, development, execution and evaluation of organization development and change management initiatives to support OBFS units. Additional responsibilities include:


1. Responsible for the planning and execution of needs assessments, including assessments using the Appreciative Inquiry approach.

2. Conduct interviews, including logistics, and communications when needed.

3. Collect and analyze interview data and prepare final reports.

4. Build assessment surveys and assist with logistics of deployment, including communications.

5. Collect and analyze survey results and prepare final reports.

6. Co-write and communicate results of organizational analysis.

7. Assist in the process to evaluate organization development events, including tabulation of results and communications.

8. Research methodologies and topics for organization development best practices in other organizations.

9. Co-develop training to support organization and change management initiatives.

10. Facilitate meetings and events, as needed.

11. Co-facilitate training and informational sessions, as needed.

12. Assist in the development of mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of organization development and change management initiatives as well as their alignment with the OBFS organizational strategic direction.

13. Other duties as assigned appropriate for an Organizational Development Specialist.


Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, or a related field with three years of related experience. Other requirements include: individual should have excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to take direction and work well with others; experience with and/or ability to research topics and develop information that will be used in organization development and training initiative; strong problem solving skills and ability to use independent judgment; strong analytical skills; proficiency with Microsoft computer programs; effective interpersonal skills; demonstrated multi-tasking capability underscored by self-motivation, creativity, and attention to detail. Master's Degree in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred.
