The Department of Astronomy at the University of Virginia invites applications for a postdoctoral Research Associate position in the area of Star Formation, with a particular focus on observational and modeling research on star cluster formation, including analysis and interpretation of data from the Chandra and Hubble Space Telescopes. The postdoctoral Research Associate will be a member of Professor Jonathan Tan's research group and is expected to work collaboratively with other group members that are involved in these research projects.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Astronomy or a related field by the appointment start date. We seek candidates with strong experience in astronomical data reduction and statistical analysis.
This is a 6 months appointment; however, it may be extended for additional time, depending on available funding.
