Adjunct Faculty - EMT - Paramedic Instructor
This position is for the 2018 paramedic program.
We are looking for lecture/skills instructors. We are not looking for clinical instructors at this time.
Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the division Assistant Dean.
An adjunct faculty position requires professionals with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Candidates for this position must have strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask as well as the ability to engage large groups of people with complicated material.
Class Specific Description:
Responsible to teach lecture and skills in an EMT-P course per IDPH guidelines.
Responsible to conduct either lecture or clinicals in the Paramedic Program. All courses occur at Delnor Hospital in Geneva, IL.
May be responsible to schedule and manage students' clinical rotations.
May be responsible to prepare the syllabus, instruct the assigned course based upon the course outline and incorporate learning-centered college principles and concepts.
Responsible for course paperwork such as attendance and grade postings, and for review and entry of students' clinicals.
Responsible to attend twice a year orientation at Waubonsee (August/January) and discipline meetings throughout the year at Delnor Hospital.

Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Candidate must have an active Illinois Paramedic license in good standing.
Candidate must submit to and pass a drug test per hospital regulations.
Candidate must submit immunization records per hospital regulations.
Active IDPH EMT-P Lead Instructor Certification is preferred.
Associates Degree or higher is preferred, or equivalent experience.
Two years teaching at the college level is preferred.
Previous teaching or training experience is preferred.
